What this is
Trust Check ("we", "us") reads publicly available signals about a domain you submit — registry records, the site’s TLS certificate, and its homepage — and returns a score with the observations behind it. There is no subscription: you pay per check at the rates on our pricing page. We are an Ounie product; your account, wallet and payment method live on ounie.com.
What a score is not
Trust Check reports publicly observable signals about a domain. It is not a certification, a credit check, or a fraud determination. A low score most often means a business is new or has a thin public footprint — not that it is dishonest. Read the signals and their evidence before acting on the number.
Specifically, and this matters: a score is a summary of what was publicly observable at one moment. It is not a statement that a business is fraudulent, dishonest, insolvent or unsafe, and it must not be read or repeated as one. A low band most often reflects a business that is new, or one that has simply never invested in a web presence. Neither is wrongdoing.
It is also not Know Your Business, a credit reference, a background check, or any form of regulated screening. We check no registry filings, no beneficial ownership and no sanctions lists. If you have a compliance obligation, this does not discharge it.
Fair use of results
You may use scores internally: to decide whether to transact, to triage, to prioritise human review, to log the reasoning behind a decision. You may show a person the signals and evidence we returned about a business.
You may not:
(a) publish, list, rank or otherwise disseminate scores about identifiable third parties as a directory, rating or reputational service; (b) present a score, band or flag as a finding of fraud, dishonesty or wrongdoing; (c) quote a score without the signals and the disclaimer that qualify it; (d) present a check as a verification, certification, accreditation or endorsement by us; or (e) use results to harass a business or its staff.
We do not operate a public directory of scored companies and no business is listed or ranked anywhere on this site — by design, and for the same reason these restrictions exist.
Accuracy
The scoring function is deterministic and published, so the arithmetic is reproducible — but the observations it works on come from third parties and live websites, and can be incomplete, stale or wrong. Registries go down. Sites block automated readers. A signal we could not observe is reported as unresolved rather than guessed, and its weight leaves the calculation, so a score is always a reading of the signals that resolved and nothing more. We give no warranty that any check is complete, current or correct.
If you believe a check materially misrepresents your business, contact us and we will look at it. We would rather fix a signal than argue about a number.
Credits and billing
Checks are billed in Ounie credits (1 credit = 1¢) from your shared Ounie wallet at 5 credits per check. Credits are reserved when a check starts and settled only when at least one of the six signals resolves. A check where not one signal could be observed has told you nothing and is refunded in full, to the exact credit pools it came from. A check that resolved some but not all signals does bill: it performed the work and returned real, partial information, and the response says precisely how partial.
Credits are bought on ounie.com and are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion. Prices may change with notice; the price in force is the one shown at the time of a check.
Keyless payments (x402)
Callers with no Ounie account may pay per call in USDC on Base. Because an on-chain settlement cannot be reversed, we verify a payment before running the check and settle only after a result exists — a check where nothing resolved is never settled. Malformed input and non-public addresses are refused before any price is quoted.
Acceptable use
Submit only public http/https targets. Do not use the service to attempt to reach private, internal or non-public network addresses; such requests are refused. Do not attempt to circumvent rate or concurrency limits, resell raw access, or use the service to build a competing scoring dataset at scale.
Your data
The domains you check and the results are stored on your account so you can re-read them for free. We do not publish your checks and there is no public page for a result. See our privacy notice for detail.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the credits you spent on the checks in question, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including any loss arising from a decision you made, or did not make, on the basis of a score.
Termination
Either party can terminate at any time. You keep access to checks you have already paid for and can export them before closing your account. We may suspend accounts for material violations of these terms, and in particular for the publication restrictions above, with notice.
